System Requirements

Site Compatibility

Developed for the PC platform (IBM compatible) IE compatible, v6 and higher; Netscape v7.0 and higher; Windows compatible: 2000 and higher; Internet access required: fastest connection possible.
 
Security

www.coffeenetwork.com is a secure site with SSL 128-bit encryption.

Check browser for SSL encryption settings (allow).

 

Proxy and Firewall Requirements

To properly run the JAVA application see checklist below:

  • The client establishes all communications.
  • System uses TCP ports 80 and 443, ensure that these ports are open for socket connections (outbound, established, Bidirectional, etc....depending on the type of appliance or application you use) for our system.
  • JAVA applets should be enabled and allowed to traverse.
  • Cache type systems may need to be reconfigured, to pass our application.
  • System destination addressing is 216.223.46.xxx. Please call if further definition is required.

Pop-up blockers

In order for the Coffee Network applications to work properly they must be turned OFF if active on user computer.


Hint: If you can’t locate the source program running the pop-up blocker utility on the local PC - While attempting to open a pop-up application page, hold down the ctrl (control) key to temporarily disable any pop-up blockers that may be turned on and stopping the process.

 

Desktop screen resolution

Recommended 1024 by 768 pixels. Desktop screen resolution settings should not be lower than 800 by 600 pixels, particularly for 15-inch monitors or smaller (e.g. laptops), 1024 by 768 pixels resolution is recommended.

 

Java Plug-in Requirements (All applications)

Sun Java J2SE Runtime Environment latest version is required to run the Java application (Pro); for all dynamic updating of Market Data in the HTML applications; and for the secure login process. To download the latest version:

"Manual" Java Download: If experiencing problems accessing the Coffee Network services and applications AFTER auto-installation of the Java plug-in (failed to download properly), it is most likely not working properly with the browser (e.g. IE); OR in some corporate networks auto-downloads and installations may not be allowed. In cases such as these a manual download and installation may be required. Make sure all pop-up blockers are turned off on the desktop.

 

To proceed with a manual download do the following:

                        1. Make sure to close all the browser windows that are opened

                        2. Install the latest java plug-in

·         Go to www.java.com:

·         Java Download home page > select Manual Download option

·         Next page: select Windows (Offline Installation) - 2nd option

·         Click DOWNLOAD

·         To view their instructions before downloading > click on INSTRUCTIONS link next to the download button

Note
If the user has previously accessed the site and components (or the old site) and is still experiencing problems with viewing any of the java components--especially after installing the java plug-in successfully; it is recommended that the cache be cleared for both the browser and the Java Plug In (console). See Procedure to Clear Java and Browser Cache below.

 

Anti-Virus Software
Please be aware that if anti-virus software is running on a local pc it may block pop-up windows (i.e. application windows) from displaying; and may stop auto-download processes from completing (i.e. code-signing and IIS certificates, Java Plug-ins).

Procedure to Clear Java and Browser Cache

1) To Clear Browser Cache
Close any browser windows displaying the CoffeeNetwork site pages.

  • Open new browser window (if not opened)
  • In Internet Explore browser MENU: Click Tools > Internet Options.
  • Under the General tab(1st) go to "Temporary Internet files" section (middle of dialog box),
  • Click "Delete Cookies" Click OK at the "Delete Cookies Prompt" (OPTIONAL)
  • Click "Delete Files" button; also Place a checkmark in the "Delete all offline content" box in the Delete Files dialog window.
  • In the History section below, click "Clear History" Click "Yes" (OPTIONAL)
In Netscape Navigator, Click Edit => Preferences => History => Clear History. Click "Clear Location Bar"

2) To Clear Java Cache

  • Go to Start=> Settings=> Control Panel
  • Double Click Java Plug-In to
  • Click on "Cache" tab; Click on "Clear" Click "Yes" at the "Erase all files..." prompt.

Java Control Panel

1) Browser settings - Check that the Java plug-in is set as the default runtime environment for the browser of choice. IF unable to view or open java components after installing the Java plug-in, Netscape users (v7.0 and higher) or IE users, do the following:

  • Go to Start=> Settings=> Control Panel
  • Double Click Java Plug-In to
  • Please check settings under: Java control Panel > Browser
  • Make sure that the Netscape browser is checked (likewise for IE users).
  • Click Apply

2) Also Check the BASIC tab and make sure that the "Enable Java Plug-in' is checked, see illustration below. Always click Apply before closing control Panel, or Cancel.


Remote Access Setup

When directed to do so by a CoffeeNetwork Support Specialist, follow the link below to set up remote access to your computer.

Remote Access Download

Each PC that is to be accessed remotely, must be set up on the eBLVD network. This process installs the eBLVD Host Applet, which controls and manages remote connections to your PC. You must give explicit permission before anyone can access your PC. You can block access and uninstall it at any time from your Windows control panel.
